The Elbeco BodyShield™ External Vest Carrier looks good and fits way better than the standard issue vest that the Bureau has graced us with. I am very pleased with the fitment of this vest. At first it'll fit like corset but after a week you'll get use to it. Great build quality and lasts longer, just like anything that isn't issued by the Federal Government. The embroidery of the Star Burst and your name tape looks very nice. The Elbeco BodyShield™ External Vest Carrier also comes jam packed with FOUR Velcro pockets on both breasts (top and inner sides of pocket) and a center zipper pouch as pictured. I kid you not I forgotten I had an Inmates ID in one of them pockets for a whole quarter.

To install the inner vest just remove the elastic straps, slide in the two pads in their respective slots and secure them in with the zipper at the bottom of the carrier. The need for any of the straps for the inner vest is practically not needed for large and below sizes. When I tried on the XL it felt loose like I was wearing a turtle shell but once I slapped on them short shoulder elastic straps the fitment was perfect. The vest itself is fasten by two sturdy wing style Velcro flaps rather than the zippers that tends to bind up or come off track. If your vest fits correctly the twisting, turning, bending and stretching shouldn't pull on the Velcro causing them to come un-done. I have my fitted to the point where I can just slip it off over my head without undoing the Velcro so I can preserve the effectiveness of the Velcro.

Not sure why the Bureau didn't grant Elbeco the contract. More that likely Blauer was the lowest bidder but, if you are willing to shell out give or take 133 American Pesos then that investment is well worth it. DO IT! (Posted on 2/21/2021)
